The lady is at once charmed by the energy levels of the audience. In the city to host Devan Ekambaram in concert, a live show held as part of the alumni celebrations of Stanes Higher Secondary School, Divya terms the entire experience as sheer bliss. “I had a great time working with our new band in the city, and though the weather was unfavourable with the rains, we had a great time performing here.
The city has very classy and vibrant people with good taste,” Divya says.
Having also crooned a few popular numbers in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, Divya is of the opinion that live shows will never go out of fashion.
“Nothing can replace watching someone perform live or even the feeling of performing live itself. Though we live in the era of remixes and fast beats, I can vouch for the fact that the youth go crazy watching musicians on stage. The whole energy is of a different level,” she notes.
Talking about her favourite music composers, she says that it will be a huge dream to sing for music maestros A R Rahman and Ilaiyaraja.
“I have worked with many of the younger music composers, but it will be a dream-come-true if I could sing for the legends, A R Rahman and Ilaiyaraja sir in the near future,” she quips, excitedly.
